The Woman with the Issue of Blood
Healed After Twelve Years
Scripture gives no name
In Mark’s Gospel
Hearing about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment — "For she said, 'If I touch even his garments, I will be made well'"
Mark 5:27-28
Immediately her flow of blood dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed
Mark 5:29
Jesus, perceiving power had gone out from him, asked, "Who touched my garments?"
Mark 5:30
She came "in fear and trembling" and fell down before him and told him the whole truth
Mark 5:33
Who they were
- Desperate but believing — after twelve years and every earthly hope exhausted, she still believed (Mark 5:25-28)
- Humble — came secretly, from behind; did not demand, only touched (Mark 5:27)
- Honest — when asked, she told "the whole truth" (Mark 5:33)
